Breaking the limit

I’ve just checked the latest stats for this blog and I’ve had over 1000 visits (and over 1600 separate page views) in the month of June. That’s the first time I’ve broken the 1000-visitor barrier! So, after 6 months or so of blogging, I’m feeling quite happy about the blog ATM :-)

Congratulations John! I had looked before, but I forgot you are from UK. We were just talking about your last election…How did Tony Blair get reelected? He is down in popularity, right? Is it because a conservative candidate is considered even worse so he’s the best of (two) evils? I don’t know the details of what your populace is like. As you probably know, ‘USAians’ are pretty much straight down the middle.

Yes, he’s down. But, in the British system, we don’t vote for a President separately. The Prime Minister is simply the leader of the party with the majority. So, even though the Labour majority shrank dramatically, we’ve still got Blair. However, the fact that Howard (the Tory leader) is pretty universally disliked probably had something to do with it, too :-)
